Fire Risk Assessment – Entertainment
The Home Office produces guidance on Fire Risk Assessments for organisations operating in specific sectors. The following organisation types all sit within the Entertainment classification.
Small and Medium Places of Assembly (holding 300 people or less)
This applies to small (accommodating up to 60 people) and medium (accommodating up to 300 people) places of assembly, including
- public houses
- clubs
- village halls and community centres
- churches and other religious centres
- marquees and tents
Large places of assembly (more than 300 people could gather)
This applies to large places of assembly (ie where more than 300 people could gather) including:
- sports stadia
- exhibition and conference centres
- large nightclubs
- churches, cathedrals, other places of worship
- community centres and village halls
- common areas of shopping malls
- premises that adjoin other complexes such as shopping centres
Theatres, cinemas and similar premises
This applies to premises where the main use of the building (or part of the building) is a theatre, cinema or multi-screen cinema or a combination of these. Includes buildings converted to cinemas or theatres. Example being:
- theatres
- cinemas
- concert halls
Open-air events and venues
This applies to premises where the main purpose of the building ( or part of the building) is for outdoor events and venues including
- zoos
- music concerts
- sporting events
- firework displays
- markets
